چکیده

We derive analytic bounds on the convergence factors associated with block relaxation methods for solving the discrete two-dimensional convection-diiusion equation. The analysis applies to the reduced systems derived when one step of block Gaussian elimination is performed on red-black ordered two-cyclic discretizations. We consider the case where centered nite diierence discretiza-tion is used and one cell Reynolds number is less than one in absolute value and the other is greater than one. It is shown that line ordered relaxation exhibits very fast rates of convergence.

Line Iterative Methods for Cyclically Reduced Discrete Convection-Diffusion Problems

An analytic and empirical study of line iterative methods for solving the discrete convection-diffusion equation is performed. The methodology consists of performing one step of the cyclic reduction method, followed by iteration on the resulting reduced system using line orderings of the reduced grid. Two classes of iterative methods are considered: block stationary methods, such as the block G...

An iterative method for amenable semigroup and infinite family of non expansive mappings in Hilbert spaces

begin{abstract} In this paper, we introduce an iterative method for amenable semigroup of non expansive mappings and infinite family of non expansive mappings in the frame work of Hilbert spaces. We prove the strong convergence of the proposed iterative algorithm to the unique solution of a variational inequality, which is the optimality condition for a minimization problem. The results present...

Projected non-stationary simultaneous iterative methods

In this paper, we study Projected non-stationary Simultaneous It-erative Reconstruction Techniques (P-SIRT). Based on algorithmic op-erators, convergence result are adjusted with Opial’s Theorem. The advantages of P-SIRT are demonstrated on examples taken from to-mographic imaging.

Unit commitment by a fast and new analytical non-iterative method using IPPD table and “λ-logic” algorithm

Many different methods have been presented to solve unit commitment (UC) problem in literature with different advantages and disadvantages. The need for multiple runs, huge computational burden and time, and poor convergence are some of the disadvantages, where are especially considerable in large scale systems. In this paper, a new analytical and non-iterative method is presented to solve UC p...
